Cancel supplementary health insurance in Switzerland
Supplementary insurance falls under the Insurance Contract Act (VVG); the notice period is in your contract – often three months before year-end, so it must arrive by 30 September. Since 2022 any contract can also be cancelled at the end of the third year with three months’ notice (Art. 35a VVG). Cancel only after the new insurer has accepted you.
