Send a registered letter to a Swiss authority
With authorities, proof matters: a registered letter shows, via Swiss Post’s tracking number, when your letter was handed over and delivered. Letterino has templates for four cases: ordering a debt enforcement register extract (Betreibungsregisterauszug), extending the tax return deadline, objecting to a tax assessment and a free-form letter to any public office. Fill in the fields, sign on your phone, and we print the letter and hand it to Swiss Post as registered mail – from CHF 11.50, no account. The letter itself is written in German, French or Italian.

Frequently asked questions
What goes into a request for a debt enforcement register extract?
Name, date of birth, your home addresses over the last five years and the purpose. The City of Zurich also requires a copy of an official ID and may ask for an advance payment. Our template asks the office to tell you how to submit the ID copy and pay.
How much does the extract cost?
The fee is CHF 17; CHF 18 if the extract is sent by post (Art. 12a GebV SchKG). Plus our registered letter from CHF 11.50.
Which debt enforcement office is responsible?
The office responsible for your home address. If you lived in another debt enforcement district during the last five years, you need a separate extract from there.
How long do I have to object to a tax assessment?
30 days after notification of the assessment, in writing to the assessing authority (Art. 132 DBG for federal tax, Art. 48 StHG for cantonal and communal taxes). Send the objection early enough.
Does the objection need reasons?
Our template contains a request and a statement of reasons. State what should change and why, and refer to your supporting documents.
Can I extend the tax deadline online instead?
Many cantons offer this. Check your tax office’s website. The letter is worthwhile if you want proof or if the online form does not cover your case.
Why registered mail rather than A Mail?
With a deadline you must be able to prove when the letter was sent and delivered. Registered mail gives you the tracking number and delivery against signature.
Can I add attachments?
Not in the guided letter. Upload your own PDF with attachments instead; we send it in the same envelope as registered mail.
